Hudson Valley Again Offering Summer Classes for High School Students at No Cost

May 23, 2024

Hudson Valley Community College will once again offer more than 75 college-level courses for rising high school juniors and seniors this summer with an added incentive: tuition and fees will be completely funded through a college scholarship, and textbooks will be provided at no cost for students. The scholarship offer covers up to eight credits.

The same incentive was offered in summer 2021, 2022 and 2023 and more than 2,100 students from around the Capital Region have taken advantage of the opportunity so far.

All classes are taught by Hudson Valley faculty members, and successful students will be able to apply the credit they earn at Hudson Valley and hundreds of other colleges and universities. Summer 2024 offerings include courses in art, business, biology, chemistry, computer science, criminal justice, civil engineering, economics, education, English, history, math, physical education, political science, and psychology.

The majority of this summer’s College in the High School courses will be offered in an online or remote learning format. Additional courses will be taught in person at LaSalle Institute and Troy High School. Session dates are July 1 through August 9.

Hudson Valley’s College in the High School program has offered hundreds of college-level, credit-bearing courses to more than 35 partner high schools and school districts for decades. Scholarships are available for the fall, spring and full-year courses.
